Terms of Service

Last updated: 12 October 2026

Welcome to Little Stall. We’ve kept these terms plain and simple so you know exactly what you’re getting into when you sign up to sell your handmade work with us.

Acceptable Use

Little Stall is built for small makers selling candles, soap, crochet, jewellery, pottery and other handmade goods, to take and manage their orders. You agree to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not use it to send spam, harass people, or do anything illegal under New Zealand law. We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that are doing sketchy things.

Your Shop and the Marketplace

Little Stall does not sell anything itself. Every shop, and every listing on the marketplace, belongs to the maker who runs it, and the sale is between that maker and their buyer. You are responsible for what you list: that it is described honestly, that you can supply it, and that you are allowed to sell and send it.

Your open shop's listings appear on the marketplace by default; you can take them off from your Shop page. We may remove a listing or a shop from the marketplace, or suspend an account, if a listing breaks these terms. Anyone can report a listing to [email protected].

What You Can Sell

Little Stall is for physical goods you make, or have a real hand in making. Please don’t list:

  • Food or drink, unless you are registered under the Food Act 2014 for what you are selling (with your council or MPI). If you are, say so in your shop description.
  • Anything the law doesn’t allow you to sell, or that is under a recall or an unsafe goods notice.
  • Copies of other people’s designs, logos or characters you don’t have permission to use.
  • Bought-in, mass-made goods described as handmade.

Product Safety and Labelling

You are responsible for making sure what you sell is safe, and labelled the way New Zealand law requires. We don’t check products before they are listed. In particular:

  • Candles, wax melts and diffusers need clear safety warnings: never leave a burning candle unattended, keep it away from children, pets and anything that can catch fire, and how to burn it safely. Check your courier’s rules before posting flammable liquids such as diffuser oils.
  • Soap, balms, bath products and skincare are cosmetics. They must meet the Cosmetic Products Group Standard, including a full ingredient list on the label, and must not claim to treat or cure anything.
  • Toys and children’s items must meet New Zealand’s product safety standards, including no small parts in toys for children under three, and the fire safety rules and labels for children’s nightwear. Think about cords, buttons and loose beads on anything made for babies.
  • Jewellery should be described honestly, including what metals are used, especially for anyone with allergies.

The Fair Trading Act and the Consumer Guarantees Act apply to what you sell, as they would to any other seller. The Commerce Commission, the Environmental Protection Authority and MPI publish plain guides for small businesses.

Your Data is Yours

You own your buyer data. We do not sell it, rent it, or use it for anything other than running your orders. We process it solely on your behalf.

The buyer data you store here includes names, email addresses, delivery addresses, and what they ordered. You are responsible for making sure you have permission to collect this from your buyers. Because we send automatic emails to your buyers on your behalf (like "Your order is received" or "Your order is on its way"), you must enter correct email addresses and understand that the app will contact them automatically.

Billing, Subscription, and Cancellation

You get a 14-day free trial. You don't need a credit card to start. At the end of the 14 days, new orders and edits pause, and your public shop goes offline, until you subscribe. If you want to keep going, you subscribe for NZ$20 a year.

You can cancel at any time. The billing page in the app opens Stripe’s customer portal, and you cancel there — that is also where you change your card and read your invoices. Once you cancel, your account remains active until the end of the year you have paid for, and then it stops. We don’t provide partial refunds for the unused part of a year.

Security and Retention

We do our absolute best to keep your data safe using industry-standard security practices. However, no system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you cancel your subscription, we will hold onto your data for a grace period in case you want to come back. If you want us to completely delete your account and all history immediately, just email us.

Availability and Liability

We try to keep Little Stall online all the time, but sometimes things break. We provide the service "as is" and aren't liable if the app goes down and you lose track of an order for an afternoon.
